This is not intended to be an exhaustive list. If you think of a skill that would fit into the world of Thedas, you can request to use it for your character.

  • Acrobatics - Executing gymnastic, balancing and tumbling maneuvers.
  • Alchemy - Using different herbs, solutions, and ingredients to create potions, poultices and other concoctions for a variety of uses.
  • Ambidextrous - The ability to use both hands with equal proficiency.
  • Animal Handling - Interacting with and caring for animals. This is primarily focusing on livestock animals for farms, but can be used for the care of companion animals as well.
  • Arcane Lore - Knowing about magic, its traditions, and the Fade.
  • Artistry - Creating works of art that include drawing, painting, and other 2 dimensional pieces.
  • Bargaining - Knowing how to haggle when making a trade
  • Brewing - Making beers, ales, and other alcoholic drinks for consumption..
  • Bowyer/Fletcher - Learning the trade of crafting bows, crossbows, bolts and arrows.
  • Calligraphy - Writing with artful penmanship, normally used in record keeping.
  • Cartography - Making and reading maps.
  • Climbing - Scaling walls and other vertical obstacles
  • Coercion - The art of getting what you want from people, whether through charm, persuasion or intimidation
  • Contacts - You know many people, sometimes in the unlikeliest of places. This is useful for having minor NPC connections for your RP, along with making connections with some board PCs.
  • Cooking - The ability to cook food fit for consumption. The higher the skill, the better the flavor.
  • Crafting - Making items with manual skills that are not listed individually like woodworking, sculpting, glassblowing, etc. You must specify the craft when taking this skill.
  • Cryptography - Creating and deciphering codes and ciphers.
  • Cultural Lore - Knowing the traditions and beliefs of various cultures. The more points, the more in depth knowledge you would have. Must pick a specific culture when taking this skill. Dalish, Qunari, Avvari, Chasind, and other obscure cultures are restricted and permission must be granted.
  • Dancing - Knowing and being able to dance in the current fashionable styles.
  • Diplomacy - Skill in handling negotiations without arousing hostility
  • Disguise - Making yourself look like someone else or a different class of person.
  • Drinking - Consuming large quantities of alcohol and avoiding the aftereffects.
  • Driving - Directing and guiding carts, carriages, boats, and other vehicles.
  • Engineering - Knowing the practicalities of construction, building, and invention.
  • Etiquette - Knowing the social niceties of various cultures; must pick a specific culture
  • Evaluation - Appraising the value of goods and art objects.
  • Fishing - The ability to catch fish using line, net or traps
  • Gambling - Playing games of chance and profiting from them.
  • Healing - Aiding the wounded and sick. Non-magical.
  • Hearing - You have an especially keen auditory sense.
  • Heraldry - Knowing coats of arms and royal families. This skill must be taken separately for each country, i.e. Ferelden Heraldry, Nevarran Heraldry, etc.
  • Historical Lore - Knowing important events and personalities from the past. This skill must be taken separately for each country, i.e. Ferelden History, Nevarran History, etc.
  • Hunting - The ability to kill animals for food or fur, using bow, spear or traps
  • Investigation - Interviewing people for information and finding and deciphering clues.
  • Leadership - Guiding, directing, and inspiring others. This is a learned skill that requires training and as such should be in your history if you take it.
  • Leatherworking - This skill encompasses skinning, tanning, and shaping of leathers and furs. It also involves the crafting of leather armor.
  • Legerdemain - Using sleight of hand to trick others, hide things, and pick pockets.
  • Linguistics - You can learn new languages easily. When you learn a new language, you learn both to read and speak it. This skill is more than just understanding a different language than your character’s mother tongue, and involves the ability to study more in depth nuances and differences. If you only know one language other than your character’s main language, you should not take this skill.
  • Lock Picking - Opening locks without using keys
  • Might - Performing feats of raw power, such as lifting or holding up heavy objects.
  • Military Lore - Knowing strategy, tactics, and famous application thereof.
  • Musical Lore - Knowing musical traditions and songs. This skill also includes knowing how to use and play instruments properly.
  • Natural Lore - Knowing the Flora and Fauna of Thedas. This skill replaces Herbalism.
  • Navigation - Planning and following a route from one place to another, including seafaring navigation as well as land navigation.
  • Performance - Entertaining an audience with a physical artistic talent.
  • Poison Lore - Knowing about poisons, their use, and their preparation.
  • Religious Lore - Knowing religious traditions and practices, particularly those of the Chantry. Any other religion outside the worship of the Maker and Andraste is restricted, and you must ask a moderator first.
  • Research - Making a systematic investigation, usually records, archives and books.
  • Riding - Directing a mount such as a horse or pony. For dwarves this can extend to brontos, but they are underground mounts only.
  • Rowing - Propelling a vessel with oars.
  • Running - Moving quickly in both short sprints and long distance hauls
  • Scouting - You are skilled in the art of reconnaissance
  • Seamanship - Familiarity with the workings of a sailing ship. Includes setting sails, tying knots, steering and other onboard tasks
  • Searching - Finding things that are hidden or obscured
  • Smithing - Forging items made of metal from weapons to jewelry.
  • Stamina - Enduring fatigue, disease, and privation.
  • Stealth - Sneaking about quietly and out of sight
  • Streetwise - Knowing how to survive in the city streets.
  • Swimming - Moving through the water and staying afloat
  • Tailoring - This skill encompasses using textiles and supple leather to make clothing and light armors.
  • Tracking - Following tracks and other signs of passage
  • Traps - Detecting, making, and disarming traps and other mechanical devices
  • Wilderness Survival - Ability to construct shelter, build a fire and find food & water away from human habitations
  • Writing - Expressing yourself with the written word creatively.
